10 Baby Potatoes
3 Garlic cloves
3 sprigs Fresh Oregano
1 tbsp Butter
1 Finely chopped Onion
1 Spring Onion
1 tbsp Finely chopped Coriander (Kothmir)
5 tbsp Mayonnaise
3 tsp Tomato Ketchup
1 tsp Dried mixed herbs
1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
1/2 tsp Black Pepper Powder
2 tbsp Olive Oil
Salt (To Taste)

Crispy Smashed Potatoes




There are so many ways to eat potatoes and i love it  in every form whether they are fried, roasted, baked or mashed i love them all! And recently i discovered a new way of eating potatoes, Smash them! My crispy smashed potato recipe for this starchy staple will elevate it  from a simple side dish to a star in your spread. It makes for a delicious starter or a side dish with a kick of its own! 

This is the kind of recipe to make when you want the food looking fancy without the hard work. These potatoes are crisp on the outside and perfectly soft on the inside,dressed in a herbiliously tangy sauce and garnished with finely chopped onions, These potatoes will surely make your heart happy!!



Boil the baby potatoes until they are thoroughly cooked.


In the meanwhile you can get to preparing the sauce; To make the sauce : In a bowl, mix mayonnaise, tomato sauce, mixed herbs, black pepper powder, red chilli powder and garlic powder. Mix well and keep aside. This is your sauce ready.


Once your potatoes are boiled, drain them and let them cool down for a while. Once cooled, place the potatoes on an oiled flat surface and press each one gently with your hand. using your palm to flatten them. Don't press too hard you just want to smash them lightly. (you don't have to remove the peels)


Heat a non-stick pan and drizzle 1 tbsp oil on it. Add butter to the oil. And mix it well.


Smash the garlic cloves with a knife and add them to the pan along with fresh oregano sprigs.


Give them a stir and place the potatoes in the pan.


Cook on medium flame for around 5 minutes on each side or until each side has a crisp golden brown cover. Sprinkle a pinch of salt.


For serving pour a spoonful of sauce over each potato and garnish with onion, coriander and spring onion. Serve hot!
